      Welcome

Women and Health Care Reform is a multi-disciplinary, collaborative group who investigates and advises on the effects of health care reforms on women as providers, decisions makers and users of health care systems.

WHCR is part of the Women’s Health Contribution Program of Health Canada’s Bureau of Women’s Health and Gender Analysis.

Our mandate is to coordinate research on health care reform and to translate this research for policies and practice. The Women and Health Care Reform Group has worked for over 10 years to illuminate the ways in which health systems, systemic change and health care reforms affect women as recipients and providers of care, through original research and analysis.

In all the work that the WHCR conducts we ask two key questions:

Why is this a women’s issue?
What are the issues for women?
